Our Vision

"A peaceful, empowered, and resilient Sudan where youth, women, and communities drive sustainable development and lasting social change." Article 2.1 — SERO Constitution

Our Mission

To empower conflict-affected, displaced and underserved communities in Sudan — beginning in the Nuba Mountains — through education, emergency response, peacebuilding, and inclusive development programs that foster dignity, opportunity, and resilience.

We advance education, humanitarian aid, and community development by empowering vulnerable children — especially girls — youth, women, and internally displaced persons through locally driven, sustainable solutions.

Strategic Objectives

Five ways we work toward a resilient Sudan.

Each objective stands on its own, and together they weave the full fabric of SERO's approach to recovery.

Education & Mentorship

Supporting access to quality education for the most vulnerable girls and boys, with mentorship for learners in conflict and post-conflict areas.

Peacebuilding & Social Cohesion

Strengthening local peace structures, engaging leaders, youth, and women as peacebuilders, and running emergency response for displaced communities.

Women's Empowerment & Gender Equality

Promoting gender inclusion across education, economic, social, and leadership spaces, and the rights and participation of women and girls.

WASH & Health Promotion

Working with communities, IDPs, and health authorities to promote health and hygiene awareness around IDP camps through workshops and engagement.

Livelihoods & Economic Resilience

Supporting youth and women with income-generating activities, cooperatives, and climate-smart agriculture to build food security and incomes.

Who We Serve

Standing with those most often overlooked.

SERO's constitution defines vulnerable, marginalized, voiceless, underprivileged, or disadvantaged groups to include:

Needy children, incl. orphans Women-headed households Internally displaced persons The elderly Neglected children
Governance Structure

How SERO is led and held accountable.

Three tiers of governance carry SERO's work from members' assembly through to daily program delivery.

10.1

General Assembly

The supreme governing body, comprising all registered members. Meets at least once annually to review reports, approve audited financial statements, and elect the Board of Trustee.

10.2

Board of Trustee

The principal policy-making and oversight body — 5 to 9 members, including a Chairperson and Secretary elected by the General Assembly. Responsible for strategic direction and financial integrity.

10.3

Executive Committee

Headed by an Executive Director appointed by the Board of Trustee, alongside Administration & Finance and Programs Managers, overseeing day-to-day management and program implementation.
